Everything in theater revolves around the stage. Knowing parts of the stage are essential to giving directions to tech crew and performers.
Stage left and stage right are always from the perspective of the actor. Upstage is toward the back wall and downstage is toward the audience. Center stage is the spot exactly in the middle of the stage. The proscenium line divides the stage proper and the apron.
