Flood Light

Use: Spread light in a wide beam. Very little control of light beam. Used for color washes.

Control:

  • Pan (right and left) (Twisting post on the bar clamp.)
  • Tilt (up and down) ( Twisting knob on the side of the lamp’s hanging bracket.)

Accessories available:

  • Gel / Gel frame. (Used to add color to the beam.)
  • Barn doors. Not often used but could be added. Cuts the size of the beam.

In the theaters in Singapore American School, flood lights are especially important for the creation of lighted backgrounds on the cyclorama. However, linear flood lights are used more often than single ones.
